Frequently Asked Questions
- I’m presenting an oral presentation at AOCR 2012. What should I do when I get to the Congress?
Firstly, you will need to check in at the Registration Desk to collect your name badge and satchel. With this, you will be able to access the rest of the Congress where it is recommended you visit the Speaker Preparation Room early (at least 4 hours prior to your presentation) to upload and test your presentation.
- Where will the Speaker Preparation Room be located?
The Speaker Preparation room will be located in Bayside 108. There will be a map in your program book to assist you in locating this room, or you can click here to view the SCEC floor plan.
- Will there be someone available to assist me in uploading my presentation?
The Speaker Preparation room will be staffed with experienced technicians who will be able to assist you with the upload of your presentations and testing. This room will be manned during the following hours of operation:
| Thursday 30 August: |
07:00am - 4:30pm |
| Friday 31 August: |
07:00am - 4:00pm |
| Saturday 1 September: |
07:30am - 4:00pm |
| Sunday 2 September: |
07:30am - 3:00pm |
- When do I need to upload my presentation?
We will require your presentation uploaded no less than 4 hours prior to the commencement of your session.
We recommend that you upload your presentation with us as soon as you arrive at the Congress. This allows for ample time for us to test your presentation with you and also gives you the peace of mind in the lead up to your session.
Please Note: Uploading your presentation to EPOS is different to the presentation upload. Speakers are reminded that they must still check in to the speaker preparation room with their presentation saved to a memory device at least 4 hours prior to the commencement of their session.
- What format do you require my presentation to be supplied in?
Presentations should be supplied via a CD or USB Memory device. Our presentation system uses Microsoft Office 2007 on a Windows operating System.
For those speakers who use an Apple computer, we ask that you have your presentation converted to the Windows equivalent. If this is not possible, then you will be required to supply your own laptop and VGA connection dongle, which we will have connected to the projectors for your presentation
- If I have a program enquiry or I am still unsure when we get to AOCR 2012, who can I see for assistance?
There will be a program desk situation outside the Speaker Preparation Room, at this desk you can ask questions about your session and have answered any last minute enquires you may have
- Oral Presenters. Is my EPOS submission separate to my presentation material (PowerPoint) for onsite?
Yes. You will need to submit your PowerPoint presentation onsite via the speaker preparation room prior to your allocated time in the program. This material may be an extension to that already submitted to EPOS. The slides are an aid to your presentation onsite. It is entirely up to you, how many slides you use.
