EPOS Submission

RANZCR EPOS™, Electronic Presentation Online System

The College’s Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) moved from traditional hardcopy posters to electronic presentations in 2007, and in 2010, the electronic presentation system took on a different electronic format using an Electronic Presentation Online System (EPOS™), which was developed in 2003 by the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) and remains a permanent online database of scientific and educational presentations.
The College was the first organisation outside of Europe to introduce the ECR electronic presentation system. The RANZCR EPOS™ system was released as part of the 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting in Perth, Western Australia.
EPOS™ provides greater flexibility and an enhanced opportunity to better develop scientific presentations and research skills among College members. The system’s capabilities include:

• A predetermined presentation template
• The ability to insert links to related websites
• Ability to use moving images
• PDF forwarding of presentations
• Award/prize recognitions
• Rating systems (from users)
• Bookmarking and access from any computer with an internet connection after the meeting

EPOS™ also includes features available in the current system e.g. database topic, author and keyword searches and author communication.
The system enables historical archiving for all presentations submitted through EPOS™ for the Annual Scientific Meetings (ASM), making the EPOS™ a valuable research tool. The College’s EPOS™ library can also be added to the ESR EPOS™ catalogue, providing an international audience.
College exhibits will be available to members through the from the RANZCR EPOS™ 2010 ASM and then constantly available online via the College’s website.
Annually, the preceding year’s exhibits will be archived but easily accessible through the system making RANZCR EPOS™ a valuable research tool and with access to RANZCR EPOS™ through ECR the exhibits will be exposed to an international audience.
